Mayor Michael Bloomberg a billionaire is looking at running for President
as an independent. The Mayor of New York City would be able to fund his
own campaign and his message of things need to be fixed in the nation might
just have some traction. His centrist problem-solving including
The Times does not mention Hillary Clinton, but that is whom they mean. And a Bloomberg entering into the race would not help Senator Clinton. Running as a Moderate, Bloomberg could take not only New York State, but would also take votes away from Senator Clinton in the blue states. This is not good news for the Democrats. The Mayor might do to the Democrats what Ross Perot did to the Republicans in 1992.
And the Times also takes a hard look at what Mayor Bloomberg might do to
the campaign of another New York Mayor.
"And Mr. Bloomberg has arguably at least as strong a claim on the
prosperity that New York City has enjoyed as a former New York mayor
already in the race,
The Times says " Mr. Giuliani is likely to view even this level of flirtation as a serious betrayal: His support for Mr. Bloomberg in 2001, after the attacks of Sept. 11, was critical to Mr. Bloomberg's success and accounts for why he is where he is today".
So look out for Bloomberg. And while you are at it, look out for Fred Thompson whom the Analyst thinks could well be the GOP nominee.
