Anybody but Gene Kelly is the word from the Barbara Ann Radnofsky's campaign. Yes there is a runoff for U.S. Senate and the Gossips were not surprised that Chris Bell , the Democratic nominee for Governor and the state party chair, Charles Soechting would be endorsing her on Friday at a press conference. Her announcement says "Prominent Democrats from all over the state will take this opportunity to officially endorse Radnofsky for the runoff". Bell said, "Barbara Radnofsky isn't just the best choice, she's the only choice." The press conference will be held in a part of the city where there are few Democrats, 1770 State James Place. Now if 10 time loser, Gene Kelly would just get off his front porch and endorse Barbara Ann that would be news.

And all the TV stations and even some radio are having a field day with the DA's investigation of the Mayor Pro-tem office at Houston City Hall and Council Member Carol Alvarado. Now the DA is putting out the word that Carol's staff may have been used for things other then official business. And he is expanding his investigation. Is it just the Gossip or is District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal doing a lot of TV interviews on this case, way more then he does on a murder investigation. Just trying to get some face time on the tube we guess. The Gossips wonder is some of the fired staff members are now remembering how they "volunteered" to help Carol in her political races and may have forgotten to take a vacation day. That is what it sounds like. That might be an interesting area to look at not only at City Hall, but at the County, the State and even the Congress. Just what do staff members do when their bosses are up for re-election? Perhaps some of the DA own staff may have been out on a few election days pushing cards for the DA or some of his favorite judges. But of course they took personal leave that day.
