CNN is reporting that Rep. Tom DeLay will drop out of his re-election race. It source is two Republican congressional sources who told CNN Monday. That might make the Democrat ,Nick Lampson, the winner as Texas law prevents replacing a candidate, after the primary, unless they meet certain standards. One of them is illness, or death and the other is moving out of the District. Either way any new GOP candidate would have a tough up hill race as it would look like DeLay dropped out to keep the district in GOP hands and even Republican voters would be angry.
