Hance to Tech, Lampson to hear from the NRCC

The Gossips hear that Lobbyist Kent Hance will be the new chancellor of Texas Tech University. The Gossip know Kent Hance and think he will do a great job. He would become the third Tech chancellor, following former state Sen. John Montford and former Texas Health Commissioner David Smith, who resigned in January. Kent use to be a Democrat and was a Member of Congress until he ran for the U.S. Senate in 1985. After his defeat he became a Republican and was very active in GOP affairs, served on the Railroad Commission and ran for Governor. If he had listened to the Gossip in 1985 he might have been a U.S. Senator.

And the Gossip hear that the mud against Nick Lampson will start tomorrow. The Lampson folks say that "National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds, has been bombarding our district with mail against Nick. And tomorrow, he begins his organization's TV assault on Nick Lampson. They have purchased TV time on all of our local stations". Of course Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, the GOP write in candidate will pretend that she knows nothing about the negative ads on Lampson. Gibbs a medical doctor has been switching her positions on various issue over the past couple of weeks. The Gossip think that when she first ran for the Houston City Council she was pro-choice on abortion and was for leaving the city's policy on not asking for a person immigration status alone. Not any more. And as a Dermatologist she says she is for better health care but at one time she refused to even take patients that were on Medicare. So watch the tube and see what a tax and spend liberal Lampson is.
