The Gossip is concerned about the future of State Rep. Herbert Vo. His slum landlord tag will hurt him in his district and his GOP opponent, Greg Meyers, is a well known HISD board member. The basic problem Rep. Vo has is to try and convince his district that is composed of many apartment renters that may have similar concerns about their own land lords, that he can represent them. The Gossip says ask for mercy and clean up your apartments and run them like a good land lord should.

Bill King want to run for Mayor of Houston in 2009 and the Gossips think he may be worried about his role in the S@L scandals in the 1980’s. He has written a book about his experience and in it he tells that the Federal regulators came after him due to his relationship with some failed Savings and Loans. After many expensive years the Feds decided not to indict him. In the political business this is called inoculation. If you know your opponents have something that they can use against you than you should bring it out into the open. That is what King is doing in his new book” Saving Face” and you can get signed copy at Tony’s on April 24th from 5-7PM.

The Gossips assume that City Comptroller Annise Parker and Council member Peter Brown will be the first to buy a copy since they also want to run for Mayor.
