Are you outraged that the White House has blocked the release of Hillary’s emails with the president?

As Hillary Clinton’s email scandal has plagued her presidential campaign and political reputation for the past several months, a progression in the controversy may make matters even worse for the former Secretary of State. An official from the Obama Administration said Friday that the White House has blocked the release of emails with correspondence between Obama and Clinton.

In the wake of dozens of Freedom of Information Act lawsuits filed against the State Department to obtain Hillary Clinton’s emails that were not being adequately held or protected on government servers (because she held them on a private server instead), the State Department has released thousands of pages of her emails. The New York Times reports that the White House’s decision to not release Clinton’s emails with the president is part of “a long history of presidential records being kept confidential while the president is in office.”

Precedent holds that the president’s emails are protected from FOIA lawsuits, however his correspondence with Clinton will be made public once he leaves office. The official mentioned above notes that not subjecting the president’s emails to the FOIA is essential to “the independent functioning of the Executive Branch.”

With this, however, it holds that these emails will not be released until after the election. This could potentially allow Hillary to be elected without the American people knowing about her shady emails with the president.

What do you think about the fact that these emails will not be released until after Hillary’s potential election?
